Our Memberships

The Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation is committed to raising critical funds to support the top priority needs for The Brantford General and The Willett, Paris. Your support of the Foundation helps us purchase medical equipment that is not paid for by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, provide essential resources to maintain the exceptional level of compassionate patient care, and invest in new and innovative technology.

We are proud, thanks to the support of our many generous donors, that we have been able to purchase many new pieces of critical patient equipment for the Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS). Of special note was the purchase of our new 256-slice CT unit (only the third of its kind in Canada) at the Brantford General. It is open for business, thanks to our generous supporters!

Thank you for your support, advocacy and investment; we are truly grateful! Together, we are transforming healthcare in our community.

There are many ways that you can help support the Brant Community Healthcare System

Monthly giving

Monthly giving makes contributing easier because you are able to make donations in small, easy-to-manage amounts. This program provides a source of reliable, ongoing funds that the BCHSF can count on each month. Giving monthly is simple and convenient.

You can join for as little as $10 a month (just 33 cents a day)!

Your monthly donation can be automatically withdrawn from your bank account or processed on your credit card. To make a monthly gift please click here. For more information, contact Crystal at the BCHS Foundation at 519-751-5544 ext. 2014 or by email at cgodwaldt@bchsys.org.

One time Giving

The BCHS Foundation is thankful for one time gifts that provide an important and ongoing source of funding for key programs and projects. Through your meaningful donation you will be supporting the delivery of compassionate care to our patients.

To make a one-time gift, please click here.

For more information, contact Crystal at the BCHS Foundation at 519-751-5544 ext. 2014 or by email at cgodwaldt@bchsys.org

A Bequest in Your Will

There is no greater legacy than to benefit the health of your neighbours and community.

Please share your intention to make a planned gift. If you are considering gift planning as a way of supporting the BCHS Foundation, or if you have already included the BCHS Foundation in your estate plans, we encourage you to let us know.

Bequests and other planned gifts create a strong future for the BCHS and may serve to significantly reduce, by means of a tax credit, the tax payable on your final income tax return.

In consultation with Kari Wilson, Manager, Major Gifts, you may designate a particular purpose for which your bequest is to be used, such as Patient Equipment or Cancer Care. Please contact Kari at kwilson@bchsys.org or (519) 751-5544 ext. 2429 for more information or to let us know you have already thought of the BCHS Foundation in your estate plans.

Giving Through Life Insurance

We often hear our donors say, “I wish I could do more.” The gift of life insurance can be an effective and affordable way to make a transformative gift to the BCHS Foundation. When you donate through life insurance, you can give the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation access to the policy’s cash value during your lifetime, and make a substantial gift later on in the form of the policy’s death benefit.

There are several options for making a significant donation that will impact the future delivery of care. For more information on gifts of life insurance, premium payments and overall benefits, please contact: Kari Wilson at the BCHS Foundation (519) 751-5544 ext. 2429 or by email at kwilson@bchsys.org

Corporate Sponsorship

The BCHS Foundation values our corporate partners and has many sponsorship opportunities that can align your comany's goals with strategic philanthropic involvement and community building in the Brant area.

We have several annual events that provide excellent venues to achieve your marketing and community support goals. From our CEO Breakfast to our BCG & Ultimate Day of Golf Tournaments to our upcoming gala "Big City, Bright Lights", we can provide a package catered to your company.

For more information, contact Christine at the BCHS Foundation at 519-751-5544 ext. 2390 or by email at cmacdonald@bchsys.org.

The Guardian Angel Program

This is the perfect way to pay tribute to the caregivers who make a difference in our lives each and every day. It is an opportunity for you to show your appreciation for by giving a financial donation in recognition of a staff member, physician or volunteer at the Brant Community Healthcare System.

Upon receipt of your gift, the BCHS Foundation will send your ‘Guardian Angel’ notice of your gift in their honour (gift amounts are not revealed) along with your personalized message.

Each recognized caregiver will receive a pin, which they can wear with pride as a symbol of their exemplary care as a ‘Guardian Angel’. For more information, contact Crystal at the BCHS Foundation at 519-751-5544 ext. 2014 or by email at cgodwaldt@bchsys.org.

Music Therapy

Perhaps “Play, Play, Play” could be the motto for our Music Therapy Programs. Since 2007,
thousands of hospital patients and their loved ones have benefitted from the life-enhancing
and occasionally transforming power of therapeutic music.

For more information and music therapy referrals, please contact Tomoko Okumura at 519-751-5544 ext 4402 or by email at tokumura@bchsys.org.

Gift of Securities

Following the elimination of capital gains on donations of publicly traded securities in 2006, gifts of securities is now the most tax efficient way to make a charitable donation and a great way for donors to make a greater impact with their gift.  For further information on how to give a gift of Securities or stock to the BCHS Foundation, contact Kari Wilson, Manager Major Gifts at 519-751-5544 x 2429 or click here to download our form.

The Walkway to Health program offers two types of commemorative bricks ~ decorative bricks and paving stones.

Paving Stones may include your name and/or the name of a family member or friend. These bricks will be incorporated into the walkway outside of the D-Wing entrance in the gazebo area. The cost of a paving stone is $100 each.
