March 2018 Edition


And here we are, entering into March and the windy days that traditionally come with it. Some cyclists tend not to mind the wind, perhaps following the old adage of whatever doesn’t kill you making you stronger. At any rate, visits to the shop have been increasing, fuelled by a combination of both cabin fever and spring fever. At one point this past Saturday, everywhere you looked there were customers. Needless to say, we’re up for that!


Which leads us again to mention that with increased customer flow, our mechanics are soon going to find themselves very busy with spring tuneups. If your bike could use some adjustments, plan to bring it in sooner rather than later. We strive to work with a three business day turnaround time. 


The delivery trucks have been rolling up to the back door on a regular basis, dropping off plenty of new bikes and all of the parts and accessories that make cycling more interesting. Of particular note are the interesting new bags that allow you to haul your stuff with you on your rides. Specialized’s new roll top seat bags are really cool.


Make sure that you look your best this season by picking up a new jersey and shorts, or a new helmet. The current crop of colorways are designed with visiblity in mind and new helmet features such as MIPS bring increased protection from concussion to your riding kit. Speaking of kit, we have plenty of foul weather clothing for those of you who are racing in the Paris To Ancaster event. You never know what Mother Nature has in store for that day. Better to be prepared and pick up some booties or arm warmers. We also have some new arm coolers in, but those are for the hot days of summer. They should work really well.....


Other than that, we’ve got plenty of previous year bikes on sale. If you picked up a new road bike recently, how about buying a mountain bike just to mix it up a little? If you’re a mountain biker, why not give a cyclocross bike a try?  After all, when it comes to cycling, variety is the spice of life!
