November 2017 Edition

What a busy October it was! Mother nature kept smiling and bestowed some great riding weather upon us. We were kept busy with sales and service work all throughout the month. Things are beginning to settle into a more seasonal pattern and now would be a great time to bring your bike in for a year end tuneup before hanging it from it’s winter storage hook. If you’d rather put your bike to work this winter, we have a wide selection of the latest indoor trainers including the new smart trainers that can introduce you to the world of virtual riding and racing, all from the warmth of your rec room.



The biggest local news is the completion of the long awaited Brantford Rotary Bike Park. This two acre dirt jumping park has something for everyone, no matter how young or how skilled. There is a beginner pump track made for very young riders on their tiny run bikes or junior pedal bikes. The pro pump track has so many line choices to discover and perfect. More than a half dozen dirt jump sections of varying degrees will allow smooth progression as your skills develop and improve. Not into the idea of dirt jumping? A skills section with wooden trails ensure that anyone can ride and enjoy the park.

To help fund the building of the park we raffled off a fantastic Radio Fiend dirt jumping bike, as well as two other prizes, with the proceeds going towards the park costs. Congratulations to all three prize winners.

A local event that saw great response from those who participated was the Brantford Business Crawl. From October 2 to October 28, a free passport featured ten local businesses, one of which was us. The idea was to visit each of the ten businesses and collect a punch hole on your passport. Once completed, your passport was entered in to win a free $1000 local shopping spree! There were individual in-store draws as well! All for FREE! If you hadn’t heard of the Brantford Business Crawl until now, don’t worry! It’s an annual event.

A bit of news that we are incredibly proud of is winning the 2017 Brant News Readers Choice Awards for Best Bike Shop. Many thanks to all of  you that have supported our endeavours over the years.  We appreciate every vote!




October 25^th was Disability Mentoring Day with the Work-abilities program.  In our 3^rd year supporting this initiative, we were pleased to have Teddy with us.  He learned how a retail operation works.  He received, labeled and merchandised newly arrived products and (obviously) pumped up tires to keep our sales-floor presentable.

Christmas is right around the corner!  We have lots of things to make the cyclist in your family happy!  We have a layaway program, as we are well aware, it is really hard to hide a bike until Christmas!  Lay it away and pick it up just before the big day!
