Wow! Busy time at the shop as the days fly by. It’s been a while since we’ve posted an update. Many of you have enjoyed the various excellent organised bike rides that are held every year. As I type this, Le Tour De Norfolk has wrapped up for another year. Of course, it was also the month for the big professional one, the Tour De France. Always fantastic scenery, interesting historic facts and the fun of seeing if the poor breakaway will succeed all the way to the finish line.....or the fun of seeing them reeled in and gobbled up by the approaching peloton if that’s more your type of thing. Congratulations to Egan Bernal, who became the first Columbian to win the Tour. Locally, the bike park has been officially opened and is in use by those that want to improve their skills over the summer.

August usually means bike sale and this year is no exception. Maybe you have a road bike and you’d like to try a mountain bike. Maybe you’re a mountain biker who’d like to extend your range with a gravel bike.  Summer Sale on now!

Bike Of The Month honours simply have to go to Cannondale’s long awaited Topstone Carbon gravel bike. Buttery smooth lines, subtle new vintage logos, and an unmistakable rear pivot point. Due to the Kingpin pivot system (coincidentally, Ted “King Of Gravel” King is tearing up the pro gravel circuit on one, alternating on a Cannondale Super X), the rear triangle of this bike is allowed to flex up to 30mm at the saddle, and has 10-12mm of true travel at the rear axle. Add in mounts for loads of gear and the ability to run a dropper post for the looser gravel descents and you’ve got a winner, which is no doubt what Mr King will show us at the end of the season.
